Step 1: Prepare the Skin
The first step is to clean the area where the cast will be applied. Your doctor or cast technician can use soap and water to cleanse the skin and then dry it off.
Step 2: Apply the Padding
Wrap the cast padding around the limb to provide a cushion between the limb and the casting tape, keeping the limb comfortable and reducing heat exposure.
Step 3: Apply the Casting Tape
Unroll the casting tape and saturate it with water. Wrap it around the limb following its contours, smoothing down the edges until the roll is complete.
